Our Director

Pat Hoitt has been the Director of Island Grove Chorus since 2003. Before taking on the responsibility as Director, she was the Assistant Director and Baritone section leader. She also plays cello in the Southeastern Philharmonic Orchestra, having formerly played both violin and viola, so her special hobby is definitely music!

Pat loves directing the chorus and is always finding new ways to teach the special harmony of barbershop music. She insists that every rehearsal be both educational and fun! She thinks that camaraderie, respect, and the joy of making music are essential in being able to free our inner selves and make others happy through our performances.

Pat wishes that any woman who likes to sing would come to a rehearsal and see what we are all about. She knows you would love it , and may find that special hobby that will give you immeasurable pleasure along with many friendships to add to your life.
